Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 6, 2026
EBounce ("we", "us", "our") operates the EBounce browser extension. This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and protection of your data.
What Data We Collect
EBounce collects and stores the following data locally in your browser:
- Etsy session cookies — saved and restored to enable account switching. These never leave your browser.
- Custom shop names and photos — labels you assign to each account for identification.
- Colour tag assignments — optional colour labels you assign to accounts for visual organisation.
- Landing page preferences — your chosen default Etsy page for each account (Pro feature).
- Extension settings — your preferences, account order, and active account state.
What We Do NOT Collect
- We do not collect your Etsy username or password
- We do not collect your browsing history
- We do not track your activity on Etsy or any other website
- We do not collect analytics or telemetry data
- We do not execute any remotely hosted code — all extension logic runs locally in your browser
Server-Side Data
If you purchase a subscription, our server stores the minimum data required to manage your license:
- License key
- Stripe customer ID and subscription ID
- Subscription status (active, cancelled, expired)
- Account limit associated with your plan
- Email address (provided to Stripe during checkout)
This data is used solely for license validation and billing. We do not have access to your Etsy account data, cookies, or any information stored locally by the extension.
Data Sharing
We do not sell, share, trade, or transfer your personal data to any third party. The only external service we use is Stripe for payment processing. Stripe handles your payment information directly and is subject to their own privacy policy.
Permissions
EBounce requests the following browser permissions, each used solely for its core functionality:
- cookies — to save and restore Etsy account sessions for account switching
- storage — to store account data locally in your browser
- tabs — to reload or open Etsy tabs after switching accounts
- browsingData — to clear Etsy site data between account switches to prevent session conflicts
- declarativeNetRequest — to block traffic during cookie swap (preventing race conditions) and to isolate per-tab sessions in Multi-Tab Mode. This permission is used solely for session isolation, not for tracking or modifying browsing activity
- webRequest — to capture response headers for maintaining session state in Multi-Tab Mode
- host_permissions (etsy.com) — the extension only operates on etsy.com to manage Etsy shop sessions. Cookies are only read from and written to etsy.com domains
Data Storage and Security
All extension data is stored locally in your browser using Chrome's built-in chrome.storage API. This data is sandboxed to the extension and is not accessible to websites or other extensions. When you uninstall the extension, all local data is automatically deleted.
Data Retention
Local extension data is stored for as long as the extension is installed. Server-side license data is retained for 90 days after a subscription is cancelled or expires, after which it is permanently deleted. You may request earlier deletion by contacting us.
Cookie Scope
EBounce only accesses cookies belonging to etsy.com domains. It does not read, write, or interact with cookies from any other website. Cookie data is stored locally and is never transmitted to our servers or any third party.
Children's Privacy
EBounce is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
International Users
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or other regions with data protection laws, you have additional rights including the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. Our legal basis for processing server-side data is the performance of a contract (your subscription). Contact us to exercise any of these rights.
Your Rights
You can delete all locally stored data at any time by uninstalling the extension or clearing the extension's storage through Chrome's settings. To request deletion of server-side data (license information), contact us at the email below.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
